A resident of Port Washington was having some comfort issues in their house, causing it to be cold all the time. After an evaluation it was determined that they would benefit from adding in new attic insulation. Triple H went in and removed all the old insulation they had. Then they air sealed all the air leaks in the attic, as well as sealed all the ducts in the home. If you have air leaks in the ducts, the rooms farther away from the air handler will not heat or cool as well, so it’s recommended to do this. Next, they installed baffles (air chutes) in each rafter bay to keep soffit vents clear and prepare for insulation. They then blew in 14” of cellulose insulation, resulting in a warmer, more comfortable home with lower fuel and electric bills.
We created a conditioned attic space in Port Washington, NY. We installed SilverGlo foam board insulation across the roof rafters. Then added cellulose behind the foam board to make sure its well insulated. Now the attic is part of the conditioned space in the home. The attic is now clean and suitable for storage.
A homeowner in New Hyde Park requested our services to insulate her attic. Upon completion of her free home energy assessment, it was apparent that her attic barely had any insulation and no air sealing at all. Triple H Contracting insulated her attic using cellulose and air selaed with foam. We also created a cat walk for a better storage area. Her home will be warmer in the winter and she will see an increase in savings.
This Crawl Space in New Hyde Park, NY was insulated with a Crawl Space Encapsulation System. All vents and other air leaks to the outside are sealed. The crawl space walls are insulated with SilverGlo foam board insulation with a reflective radiant barrier face. Then a dimpled plastic drainage matting is installed on the floor to create an airspace and thermal break. Finally a heavy duty, 20 mil thick crawl space encapsulation linear is installed permanently across the dirt floor- sealed with mechanical fasteners to the walls and spiked to the floor.
We started by removing the old, damaged insulation in the attic space. Then adding a storage platform and catwalk to make it easy to access the mechanical system in the attic and creating extra storage space for the homeowner. The platform we added has insulation boarders so its prepped for when we blow in new insulation. We added 12" of blown in cellulose insulation to the space. The homeowner will now have a comfortable home year round.
