We started by removing the old, dirty insulation from the attic space, prepping it for new insulation. Then we sealed all air penetration and blew in 16' of fresh cellulose insulation.
A homeowner from West Hampton Dunes, NY contacted Triple H stating cold air is rising up through their unfinished garage. Our home comfort consultant Bill performed a free evaluation of the home. Upon completion Bill provided solutions for the homeowner. Triple H removed the moldy, damaged insulation from the crawl space ceiling, then applied spray foam around the perimeter of the garage and crawl space. Then they air sealed and insulated the attic floor with 10" of TruSoft cellulose. The homeowner will now be comfortable in their home, and it will be energy efficient.
A homeowner from West Hampton called because her house was not holding heat. Our Home Comfort Specialist, Bill, visited and gave a free evaluation and a proposal for an attic insulation project. Triple H air sealed all the air bypasses and top plates with our polyurethane ZypFoam and then blanketed the attic floor with 10 inches of TruSoft Cellulose insulation. The homeowner will now be able to retain the heat in the house and the home will run more efficiently through all seasons.
This customer from Mattituck had a energy assessment because half of the second floor bedrooms were warmer in the summer than the other bedrooms. After examining the customer's house it was determined that one of their issues was that their supply plenum was not properly insulated. To help improve comfort in their bedroom, we wrapped the supply plenum with insulated duct wrap, preventing cool air from being lost into the attic. By doing this, these bedrooms will be much cooler in the summer because all the conditioned air will go to the bedrooms and not escape through the ducts to the attic. The house is also more energy efficient.
A resident of Mattituck contacted Triple H regarding comfort concerns in their home. One of the issues discovered was their bath fan was exhausting into their attic instead of outside. Additionally, the attic did not have a radiant barrier or proper air sealing throughout, including around high-hats. Our team fixed this problem by insulating the knee walls with Silver Glow rigid foam board, covering the light fixtures with a rockwool cap and, air sealing with one-part spray foam.
