A customer from Elmont, NY was looking to get an estimate to have her attic reinsulated. Upon doing an assessment it was also recommended that she have her knee wall space reinsulated as well. Without a properly insulated knee wall, it can result in the upper level of the home to be colder in the winter and hotter in the summer, and the knee wall space would not be suitable for storage. Triple H went in and removed the old insulation and added SilverGlo foam insulation between the ceiling joist bays. We also added a boarder and blew in cellulose insulation. Now this home should have a significantly warmer upstairs in the winter, and cooler rooms in the summer, less drafts, and more comfort overall.
A resident in North Bellmore, NY was experiencing uncomfortable rooms above their garage. After an evaluation it was determined they had no insulation in the ceiling between the garage ceiling and the rooms above. Garages are not heated, but the finished rooms above them are. So, the garage ceiling must be insulated. The result is cold, drafty floors upstairs. Triple H dense packed the ceiling with TruSoft Cellulose Insulation. The cellulose is blown in and dense packed into the ceiling. This not only compresses existing loose fiberglass batts, but the density stops airflow through the floor from air leaks. Added this insulation results in warmer floors above, more comfortable rooms, and quieter floors upstairs without that hollow sound.
This homeowner in Jericho, NY was having comfort issues. They were feeling drafts in the basement and lower levels on his home. After an evaluation it was determined that the rim joists weren't properly insulated. The Rim Joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the house. Without it being properly insulated it causes air leakage into the home resulting in cold floors, drafts, and uncomfortable rooms in the basement and lower levels. Triple H installed two part expanding spray foam on the rim joist and over sill plates to seal all air leaks from the outside. A customer from Woodbury, NY was having comfort issues in his home. He was experiencing drafts and was also having a hard time keeping his home warm in the colder months. After an evaluation it was recommended that he should upgrade his attic insulation. Triple H removed the old insulation so they could air seal the attic floor properly so there are no air leaks. Insulation doesn’t stop air leaks, it’s always important to seal the air leaks before adding the new insulation so you don’t lose the air from your home. Then 10” of Cellulose Insulation is blown into the attic space. Resulting in a warmer, more comfortable home.
After an evaluation for a customer in Deer Park, NY it showed that his attic wasn’t properly insulated resulting in cold drafty rooms, cold floors, and he was having a hard time heating his home. Triple H removed the old insulation. Then they sealed all the various points where air from the home leaks up into the attic and is lost. Then they blew in 12” of TruSoft Cellulose Insulation to reach optimum R-value. TruSoft will not burn, get moldy or attract pests. Now with updated insulation this home will be warmer, more comfortable, less drafty, and easier to keep comfortable resulting in lower fuel and electric bills.
This homeowner from Commack was interested in making their home more efficient. The attic in this home was lacking adequate insulation. The home was experiencing a large amount of air seal leakage too. Triple H installed cellulose insulation, baffles between the attic rafters to improve natural ventilation and built an insulated mechanical catwalk. This home will be much more efficient. The customer will also see an improvement in the comfort of the home as well.
A resident from Hauppauge, NY was looking to get an estimate on new attic insulation. After having a look at the attic, it was noticed that he definitely needed updated insulation. The current insulation wasn’t doing its job which was causing the home to be uncomfortable and harder to heat and cool throughout the year. Triple H went removed the old insulation. After the old insulation is removed the attic floor is then air sealed to prevent any air leaks within the attic. Then 12” of Blown-In Cellulose Insulation was added. While installing insulation in an attic in Hauppauge, NY Triple H also installed Can Light covers. Can Lights are holes in the ceiling which causes air leaks between the fixture and the drywall. Most can lights are not rated to have insulation against them because it could be a fire hazard when they get hot. Without any proper coverage your home could have more drafts and colder rooms and have a higher overall home air leakage rate. Dr. Energy Saver’s TiteShell fireproof can light covers are installed over the can lights.They are fitted around wires and fixtures and sealed airtight with expanding foam. Once the covers are installed then we can blow in the cellulose insulation over them. With the new can light covers installed the home will be less drafty and more comfortable.
Triple H went to this home in Centereach, NY to update the home's insulation. Part of the project was insulating the rim joist. Poorly insulated rim joists lead to cold floors, drafts, and an uncomfortable home. Triple H used a two-part expanding spray foam on the rim joists and over sill plates to seal all air leaks from the outside and insulate this important area of the home. With this area insulated and all the gaps and air leaks sealed, this home should have warmer floors and over all a more comfortable house.
This customer came to us with some concerns of some of his rooms being too hot all the time. After a Free Home Energy Assessment, we recommended to encapsulate the duct system with spray foam. Triple H went in and used spray foam to seal and insulate the ducts over the existing insulation. Air cannot leak through the foam. We were able to encapsulate these ducts with superior R-values and it being airtight. Now this customers rooms are more comfortable, being warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter plus less duct noise and lower bills.
